Principal Scientist


Summary
The successful candidate will have a strong interest in designing and   managing projects to establish proof-of-concept activity for novel compounds,   and identify novel therapeutic indications for established drugs. We seek an   experienced scientist with a strong background in pharmacology models and   in-depth knowledge of either kidney or liver physiology. You will leverage   your expertise to design and manage external non-clinical pharmacology and in   vivo validation studies. You will be expected to develop and communicate   expert understanding of the biology for each program. An additional goal will   be to propose and qualify potential PD and disease-associated biomarkers to   support clinical programs. The successful candidate will also communicate   effectively within an interdisciplinary scientific and management team.

Essential Functions:
• Develop strategies to advance preclinical assets to proof of concept
• Identify and implement assays to validate target pharmacology
• Identify and implement in vivo models to provide proof of concept
• Effectively manage complex studies at CROs
• Provide regular updates to senior management

Requirements:
• PhD with a minimum of 5-10 years relevant industry experience
• Project team leadership experience
• Experience managing CROs
• Strong organization skills and the ability to work with minimal   supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel (as needed)
